An authorization form is used to petition the National Labor Relations Board to hold a Secret Ballot election. Under the law, at least 30% of the designated bargaining unit must sign forms to petition for an election. Only Teamster officers and the Labor Board representatives will see the form that you sign. The authorization form does not obligate you to join the Teamsters Union.
